What happened in Cologne at the world's leading textile and yarn exhibition?
Well, I am still under its spell... Last week, I visited the H+H Cologne exhibition, which is the largest and most exciting event in the world of handicrafts. Imagine halls filled with beautiful pavilions, overflowing with the latest yarns, colors, and creative tools. It was like a chocolate lover stepping into a candy store!
First, let me show you the magnificent installations and the cheerful atmosphere!
Trends and Inspiration
I saw next year’s colors, touched incredible new textures, and of course, met with our favorite manufacturers and brands. I brought home so much inspiration, and I already know exactly which novelties will be joining the Fonaltündér collection in the coming months. (But shhh, let’s keep these a surprise for now—I don't want the competitors finding out too early! )
At the Scheepjes booth, visitors were greeted by amazing creations, yarns, and star crochet bloggers! Gorgeous colors and plenty of secret novelties are on their way to us throughout this year!
At the KnitPro booth from India, every available product was on display, including all the latest novelties! At The Oxford Company’s table, you could even learn the art of rug making from some super lovely Canadian ladies, using KnitPro’s newest Punch Needle sets!
At the Durable and ReStyle booth from the Netherlands, we further strengthened our personal relationships and agreed on the exciting novelties we’ll be surprising you with soon. An excellent designer has joined their team to enhance the brand even further.
The Rico Design booth from Germany was also fantastic, featuring amigurumi all made from the latest monster-inspired furry yarns. In addition, their entire autumn collection was on display, including even more gradient-colored, fluffy yarns and a fantastic selection of modifying carry-along threads!
At the French DMC booth, we could take a look at the latest embroidery kits and threads, available in an incredible range of quantities and shades!
The Hard Decision: Making Space!
As I walked among the booths, I realized something important: to bring you these fresh, colorful novelties, I need space on my shelves. Unfortunately, my warehouse isn't made of rubber, so I had to make some painful but necessary decisions.
There are yarns I adore, but the manufacturer is unfortunately discontinuing them (like the great favorite, Scheepjes Cotton 8), and there are others where I have found—in my opinion—an even more beautiful and reliable alternative (Maxi Sweet Treat fans will hear more about this very soon).
