In the video, we crocheted a medium-sized sphere together, but I'll also share the description of a larger sphere with you. If the abbreviations are not clear, visit the blog post about crochet abbreviations here >>>
General information:
- We crochet in a spiral, always on the right side of the material
- use a crochet hook of the appropriate size for the yarn
- A smaller sphere is made from thinner yarn, while a larger one is made from thicker yarn.
abbreviations: ( according US terms)
sc - single crochet
ch - chain
(2sc) - 2 single crochet in one stitch (increase)
sc2tog - single crochet 2 stitches together (decrease)
[8] - stitch number at the end of the round
*1sc, (2sc)* rep 6 - repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed
Crocheted Medium-sized Shpere pattern:
Start: Magic Ring
1. Round: 1ch (does not count as a sc) 8sc into the magic ring [8]
2. Round: *1sc, (2sc (increase)* rep 4 times [12]
3. Round: *1sc, (2sc)* rep 6 times [18]
4. Round: *2sc, (2sc)* rep 6 times [24]
5-8. Round 24sc (no increase or decrease) [24]
cut and wave in the starter tail of yarn on the wrong side of the sphere
9. Round: *2sc, sc2tog (decrease)* rep 6 times [18]
10. Round: *1sc, sc2tog (decrease)* rep 6 times [12],
stuff the sphere with polyester stuffing material
11. Round: *sc2tog* rep 6 times [6]
Cut the thread with a long tail and join the stitches together with an embroidery needle (as shown in the video).
