Radiant Stripes Cushion - crochet pattern - By Kirsten Ballering
Picture a cosy garden nook lit by string lights, the soft glow of lanterns, and your Radiant Stripes Cushion casting its own luminous green light as the evening settles in. Whether indoors or out, this bold and brilliantly fun crochet project brings colour, contrast and a spark of playfulness to any space – long after the sun has gone down.
Crocheted using the Scheepjes Glow Up Colour Pack and contrasting white Catona, each of the 16 striped squares (8 each of Square 1 and Square 2 colourways) features rows of alternating yarns for a vibrant daytime effect. But once darkness falls, the Glow Up yarn reveals a striking green glow, especially vivid when charged under LED lighting. Arranged to form a clever basket weave effect, the finished cushion adds a unique and unexpected twist to your handmade décor.
Measuring 48 x 48cm (19 x 19in), the cushion front is simply stitched to a ready-made cushion cover – no need to crochet a backing. Whether you're adding a glow to garden gatherings, creating a feature piece for your craft corner, or exploring the magic of glow-in-the-dark yarns, the Radiant Stripes Cushion offers a playful way to let your creativity shine.
